    The Irish Underwater Council was founded 40 years ago to organise and promote sport scuba diving and snorkelling in Ireland. At the time there were six clubs and the sport has expanded over the years to the extent that there are over 86 clubs today.

    Galway Sub Aqua Club is based at 14, Cross St. Galway. The club meets every Friday night in the clubhouse at 10.00pm. Regular club dives take place every Sunday all year round, and every Wednesday from April to October.
